Questions
You might be wondering how Waypoint One works
-
Waypoint One Foundation exists to create opportunities for men to slow down, reconnect, and find their way forward.
We create spaces and experiences where connection can happen naturally—through time outdoors, on the water, around a fire, over a meal, through service, or simply sitting down for a conversation.
The activity is the vehicle. Connection is the purpose.
-
Waypoint One is for men who could benefit from meaningful connection, community, and time away from the noise of everyday life.
You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't need to have a particular story, background, or reason for being here.
Sometimes you just need a place to show up.
-
We create opportunities for men to connect through shared experiences.
Those opportunities may include time on the water, outdoor experiences, camping, cooking and BBQ, volunteering, coffee and conversation, and other activities that bring people together.
We're less concerned with what we're doing than with who we're doing it with.

Waypoint One currently serves men in and around the Central Virginia/Richmond area. We're starting here, but our vision is much bigger. As Waypoint One grows, we hope to expand our reach to communities across Virginia and eventually beyond, giving more men the opportunity to find connection, brotherhood, and a place where they don't have to walk alone
-
No.
Not every man connects in the same way.
That's why we're interested in hearing what speaks to you. You might want to fish, spend time outdoors, volunteer, cook, sit around a fire, or simply have a conversation.
Find your waypoint. We'll work from there.
-
No.
Waypoint One is not a mental health treatment provider and does not replace professional counseling, therapy, or other medical care.
Our purpose is to create opportunities for connection, community, purpose, and shared experience.
Sometimes meaningful conversations happen naturally when people have a safe and comfortable place to simply be around others.
-
Our goal is to make Waypoint One opportunities accessible to the men we serve.
Specific activities may have different costs depending on the experience, location, equipment, or other circumstances. We'll communicate any costs clearly before someone commits to participating.
As Waypoint One develops, we intend to use community support and donations to help reduce barriers to participation.
-
Absolutely.
You don't need to know what you're looking for before you reach out.
Maybe you want to get outside. Maybe you want to meet some people. Maybe you just want to sit around a fire and not have to explain yourself.
Tell us where you're at.
We'll take it from there.

How can I support Waypoint One?
There are many ways to support what we're building.
You can give, volunteer, share your skills, help create an experience, connect us with a community partner, or simply tell someone about Waypoint One.
We're building this together.
You don't have to figure it all out first.
Sometimes finding your way forward starts with simply finding somewhere to go.
